If I pay for Rapidshare with a credit card through PayPal is it a cash advance?
I have a student classic Visa through CIBC and I can’t find anywhere that would classify this as a “cash-life” transaction.

No. It is NOT a cash advance.
If it is paid by PayPal with your credit card, PayPal charges your credit card, just like if you went to timmies and bought a doughnut and they charged your credit card. (or any other merchant)
Same process.
