Can I pay mostly cash and rest on credit card for used car?
The car Im looking at purchasing from a used dealer ship with tax and all that stuff totaled is $5600.00. I have 5200 in cash, and a credit card with $1000 limit, am I able to hand the salesan 5200 in cash and swipe my card to pay the other $400?

I’ve done it for more than that. I charged 1200.00 on my Visa once, and paid 3400.00 in cash.

Maybe.
But I would offer $5000- cash in hand (keeping $200- in your pocket for gas money), and if not accepted, leave and go to another dealership. In these economic times, cash is cash, and dealers who want to stay in business will deal.
But first make sure the vehicle is worth it - look at
and other similar sites.

Just tell him 5200$ cash out the door including tax and tags he might just take it because its cash but if not you should be able to not sure though

I would do it if you were sure you can pay the $400 by the time you get your bill on your credit card. If not you should wait to collect the other $400 or at least a little more and being sure you can then later pay the credit card bill. Hope this helps! xP

If you show them cash they may be willing to take it for that price. My husband bought his van like that. When the money is in there face they get excited!! Offer them the $5200, youd never know

I don’t think you’ll have a problem with it, assuming the dealer doesn’t mind credit cards.
Some dealers don’t like them because it’s too easy for the customer to ask his credit card company for a charge reversal if he is unhappy for some reason.
