How can the airlines make you pay for drinks etc. with a credit card and not except cash?
I was taught that business’ must except cash as the US dollar is legal tender for all debt’s public and private So how can the airlines insist you pay with a credit card and refuse cash. This is even more important now that the TSA will no longer allow passengers to bring drinks on board. Could this be grounds for a class action law suit?

Class action law suit? On what basis? I see no Tort, Breach of Contract, or other harm with any damages. I see no discrimination or defamation with resulting damages.
You cannot even *get* an airline ticket without a credit card anymore, so possessing a credit card doesn’t seem to be any great leap.

I fly many miles each month on several different airlines.
Up to this date, I have never seen an airline which only took credit card once in the air. They always ask for cash, and always announce that they would like exact amount.
What airline did you fly that ask for credit card in flight?
Was it here in the US?

Airlines go to different countries and the passengers may be carrying all sorts of currencies too. If you pay in currency of the country where this Airline is there they will accept that. Rest only cards.

About the cash. That is not true. A business can refuse to take cash but take other payment methods Credit, Debit, Check or other form of electronic payment.
I heard the news about plane requiring a credit or debit card. There are two type of cards you can buy with cash before boarding the plane. One is prepaid debit card with MasterCard or Visa symbol. The other is a prepaid airline card which can only be used on that airline. The bad thing about the MasterCard and Visa prepaid debit card -may not work for adult purchases like drinks but the prepaid airline card should work.
