How difficult is it to pay for something with both cash and debit card?
Example: something comes to $42.02, I would want to give them 2 cents and use the debit card for the $42.

That’s how it’s done. Cash first, then card.

It only becomes difficult when someone doesn’t know how to make a combined payment transaction. Its always possible…but some cashiers don’t know how to do it, or don’t want to learn and are just too lazy to figure it out.

let them know that you want to do 42.00 on the debt card and 2 cents in cash, that is a little petty though, just put the 2 cents in your account.

Its quite easy people do it all the time, actually the cash register does all the thinking for the person behind it….
I do it all the time

I think for many stores, if you play this game, they may not want your business, or the hassle.

Easy…unless the cashier is an idiot..just tell them before you swipe your card..give them the cash first.

Some places will not allow you to use the payment method you speak of. Some places will let you do that. I know that you will have an easier time doing that at a self checkout like the ones they use at Wal~Mart Inc(R). because you can put in $0.12 and run $0.50 on a debit or credit card to buy a $0.62 soda pop. So in review you could actually do that at a place like Wal~Mart Inc.(R) Or Albertsons Inc.(R) I do not any other places that are implementing the self checkout line as widely or having it getting used as often.
