The Bank of the Future is here - Sunday Observer- Cashpay Card
Data Management Systems Ltd (DMS), Sri Lanka’s pioneer ICT Systems Integrator now in its fourth decade of supplying and transferring leading edge technology to benefit Sri Lankan society, in partnership with some innovative local banks, has implemented the Bank of the Future. All over the world, over 95% of visits made by people to Bank branches are to carry out one or more of the following transactions including opening of an Account, deposit cash or cheques, withdraw cash, pay bills, transfer funds between accounts, check balances of various accounts, obtaining detailed statements of transactions pertaining to a particular period and updating their passbooks. The Local Rupee Currency has been certified for acceptance on the Diebold Opteva Bulk Note Acceptor (BNA) that is integral to these Advanced Function ATMs and while customers receive immediate credit for cash deposits, all cheques in circulation in Sri Lanka can also be deposited without envelopes in the Intelligent Depository Module (IDM) of these ATMs, enabling cheque truncation to be initiated as soon as these cheques are deposited. Details of transactions along with images of cheques deposited are printed on the receipt issued to the customer from the ATM, as proof of deposit. Customers can also open Accounts, withdraw cash, pay their bills in one of many ways including utilising the bar code scanner on the ATM and paying on-line with their credit card or ATM debit card using the card reader on the ATM, pay bills on-line the traditional way as a function enabled by debit of account by software, while bill payment can also be facilitated by depositing cash into the ATM.
